The Hero Awards is a special component of the Pick n Pay School Club and is dedicated to identifying everyday heroic acts happening in South African schools.

We believe there are unknown heroes across our communities - children who go above and beyond to show generous acts of kindness, bravery, academic excellence, sporting achievements or just go the extra mile for another person. Teachers, too, make an incredible impact and often go the extra mile for the sake of the children in their classrooms. The Hero Awards recognises these remarkable individuals, celebrating the difference they are making in their schools and communities.

This initiative not only recognises the everyday (and exceptional) acts of heroism taking place within the South African school community, but also encourages and fosters the development of emotional intelligence within our learners by creating role models.

We have received some amazing stories from our local heroes and would love for you to share yours with us.
