PICK N PAY SCHOOL CLUB – 2026 PICK N PAY HERO AWARDS COMPETITION
- TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The promoter of this competition is Pick n Pay Retailers Pty Ltd (“Pick n Pay” or “the Promoter”) (registration number: 1973/004739/07), a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa and having its registered address at 101 Rosmead Avenue, Kenilworth, 7708.
- All persons entering (“the Entrants“) the Pick n Pay School Club ‘2026 Pick n Pay Hero Awards Competition’ (“the Competition“) agree that the competition rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them. A copy of these terms and conditions is available at schoolclub.co.za
- IMPORTANT NOTICE
- These terms and conditions and competition rules contain certain terms and conditions which appear in similar text style to this clause and which:
- may limit the risk or liability of the Promoter or a third party; and/or
- may create risk or liability for the entrant; and/or
- may compel the Entrant to indemnify the Promoter or a third party; and/or
- serves as an acknowledgement, by the Entrant, of a fact.

2.2 The Entrant’s attention is drawn to these terms and conditions because they are important and should be carefully noted.
- Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the entrant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“the CPA”).
- The Entrant acknowledges that by submitting his or her entry to the competition he/she has been given an appropriate opportunity to first read these terms and conditions before entering and that he/she understands and agrees to the terms and conditions.
- All Entrants to this competition participate entirely at their own risk. By reading and accepting these terms and conditions, the entrant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the promoter, Pick n Pay Stores Limited and any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by or is in common control with the promotor (“the Pick n Pay group”); their directors, employees and agents against any and all liability or any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the competition and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of any indemnified party.
- RULES OF THE COMPETITION
- This competition opens at 08:00 am on 01 February 2026 and closes at midnight on 30 September 2026. No entries submitted after the closing date will be accepted.
- The Entrants are eligible to win:
- A share of Pick n Pay vouchers worth R35 000 (Thirty-Five Thousand Rand).
- The compilation and allocation of the prize will be at Pick n Pay’s discretion.
- The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of the award. At the end of the validity period, whatever balance is remaining on the voucher shall be forfeited. The vouchers shall be subject to Pick n Pay’s terms and conditions in respect of where the vouchers may be redeemed.
- The voucher may not be redeemed for cash and no credit balance will be given as cash.

- To enter the competition, the Entrant must:
- Enter their learner/child on the Hero Awards Submission Form on the Pick n Pay School Club website or
- Send their learner/child story to a Pick n Pay School Club School Liaison Officer
- The winner will be contacted by Pick n Pay to arrange delivery of the prize.
- Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or other prizes.
- Prizes do not include any other costs or expenses relating to the prize or the enjoyment of the prize not expressly specified in these rules.
- Pick n Pay shall not be liable for any damage, cost, injuries and losses sustained in relation to the competition and the prize and its enjoyment. All risks associated with the prize including losses relating to fraud or unauthorised use shall transfer to the winner upon award. The winner indemnifies Pick n Pay against any loss or damage which may be suffered by taking part in the competition, including any claims related to the prizes.
- In order to qualify as an entrant for this competition:

- the Entrant must live in the Republic of South Africa (“South Africa”);
- the Entrant must provide correct and full personal details, as required; and
- the Entrant cannot be a juristic entity and must be an individual or a group of individuals.

3.9 The Promoter, any entity in the Pick n Pay group, their directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services in connection with this competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the above named parties and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not permitted to participate in this competition.
- SELECTION OF WINNERS
- Winners will be selected on or before 28 October 2026. This date is subject to change without notice.
- Entrants to whom prizes will be awarded will be selected through an approved shortlisting process.
- Winners will be contacted via email or telephonically starting from the 10 November 2026 (latest starting date). Winners that have no valid communication will be excluded from the winner selection process. If winners have not been able to be contacted within 48 hours, they will forfeit, and a backup winner will be selected.
- Irrespective of the number of entries submitted, each entrant is only eligible to win one prize.
- Before making the final award of the prizes, Pick n Pay will require that the content of each entry be verified. Pick n Pay may request for evidence to validate the entries. The assessment of the validity of the entries will be at Pick n Pay’s discretion. Any false stories will be disqualified. Pick n Pay reserves the right to withdraw the prize if the story is proven to be false after awarding the prize.
- In addition, Pick n Pay reserves the right to disqualify a winner if he/she does not respond to the requirements on the email or telephone call within 48 hours of winner selection and select a replacement winner from the competition entries. In such circumstances, the replacement winner shall be contacted via email or telephonically by Pick n Pay as soon as reasonably practicable and shall be required to respond to Pick n Pay in the manner set out in such correspondence. In the event that the replacement winner fails to respond to Pick n Pay as required, then the provisions of this clause shall apply to that new winner in the same way as if he/she were the original winner. If the selected winner does not have any contact details the winner selection process will need to take place immediately.
- The entrant indemnifies the promoter against any loss, fraud or damage, that may be suffered by the entrant in relation to participation and the enjoyment of the prize. The entrant will be responsible for ensuring that the details provided to Pick n Pay are correct.
- Pick n Pay reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions as well as terminate the competition at any time. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of the competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Pick n Pay, its advertising agencies, advisors, suppliers and nominated agents.
- DATA PRIVACY
- Personal Information means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person and where its applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person including but not limited to defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act (“POPIA”).
- The Entrants hereby consent to provide the Promoters with the relevant personal information required in order to enter the Competition as well as allow the Promoter to share the personal information with the designated third-parties.
- In addition, the Entrant also agrees to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy which can be found at https://www.pnp.co.za/privacy-policy.
- All personal information shared within the context of the Competition will be treated as confidential and shall only be processed for the sole purpose of the Competition. Any other processing of any personal information by the designated third-parties and Promoter (“all parties”) is prohibited.
- It is the responsibility of the Entrant to provide accurate personal information otherwise the Promoter would not be able to comply with the Data Protection and Privacy Laws of South Africa.
- GENERAL
- Pick n Pay School Club is the sponsor for the purposes of this competition.
- Pick n Pay will not be responsible for any technical difficulty entrants may experience during the competition period.
- By entering the competition in accordance with its terms, you are entering a competition for the purposes of the CPA and the competition will be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CPA. Should you win a prize in the competition, you undertake to expeditiously do all things necessary to enable the promoter/sponsor to comply with its obligations under the CPA including, but not limited to (i) providing such personal information as may be required in order to facilitate handing over the prize (including winner contact number, physical address, and email address) and (ii) signing receipt of the prize upon delivery.
- The names of the prize winners will be published on the Pick n Pay School Club social media pages and in the Overview Brochure.
- The winner may be requested to take part in the promoter’s publicity campaigns or to allow their names and likenesses to be used by the promoter for promotional purposes.
- The promoter shall conduct the competition, and the promoter’s decision on any matter related to the competition, including the selection of the prize winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
